Success Stories :

  “YASHSHREE AGRO INDUSTRIES (DAL MILL)”HINGOLI,

          Hingoli is the smallest District of Maharashtra having geographical area of about 473400 ha. out of 360136 ha. cultivated land, pulses accoupied  73300 ha. area. The major pulses crops are Redgram ( 26500 ha.) Greengram (24100 ha), Black Gram ( 22500 ha) Gram 40680 ha. This District is Non Industrial District. Even though pulse production is significant there is no big Industry for the milling.

           Shri Ramesh S. Pandit a young B.Com. graduate Journilist from Ak. Balapur Tq. Kalamnuri Dist. Hingoli was looking to contribute to the farming community and also for employment jeneration. From 2003 he was in constant  touch with the scientist of Krishi Vigyan Kendra Tondapur which is only 10 K.M. away from Ak. Balapur. He attended vocational Training Program organized for Rural Youth by the KVK time to time. Shri R.S. Bhalerao SMS (Agronomy)  carefully analized the condition of Shri. Ramesh Pandit & advised him to start a mini Dal Mill in the District. Shri Ramesh Pandit was asked to visit Dr. P.D.K.V. & Collect the information about the Dr. P.D.K.V. Mini Dal mill. Dr. P.D.K.V.  at developed mini Dal Mill with the help of this Mini Dal mill it is possible to process the pulses at home. This mill can work 150 –250 days in year with 72-75% Dal recovery for Redgram & 80-82% Dal recovery for Green gram and Black gram. Its capacity is 10 qt. Redgram and 12 qt. Green gram, Black gram, Gram & Soyabean per day. This mill can give 3-4% more Dal recovery than the Mega Dal Mill.

              After going critically with this project Shri Ramesh S. Pandit establish “YASHSHREE AGRO INDUSTRIES (DAL MILL)” , First In the Hingoli District on 4th February 2008. for the Dr.P.D.K.V. Mini Dal Mill he invested 2.10 lac and total 13 lac. Today he is miling 10qt Redgram, Black gram, Green gram & Gram 10 qt per day. In the year 2008-09. he incurred Rs.1.2 lac as a Net Profit from the Mill.

              Shri. Ramesh S. Pandit not only generate  employment for himself but on the advise of Shri. R.S. Bhalerao SMS (Agronomy) K.V.K. Tondapur had trained Nearly 100 Rural Youth for this project.

 KESHAR NURSERY, KAWADI

            Hingoli is smallest District of Maharashtra. Having only 6 Govt. Register Nursery of different Fruit crops. Amont there is only two for mango. From last 2-3 yrs. Farmers of the Hingli Dist. Are diverted towards manago cultivation under EGS scheme & NHM program. So there is a Great demand for mango Grafts in the District & farmers has to relie on the planting materials out side the District & unknown places. KVK Hingoli identified this problem & intervent for it.

            Shri Mukundrao Narayanrao Patange a small farmer from village Kawadi having plantation of mango, Guava, Papaya since last 5-6 yrs., was in constant touch with KVK & attended every program organized by KVK regarding Nursery Management. Last year a team of KVK scientist during diagnostic visit to his Orchards suggested him to start a Mango Nursery on his field to supply quality planting material to the farmers. He attended vocational training program on Nursery Management program organized by KVK and get self expertise in budding & drafting techniques. Shri Anil Olambe SMS Horticulture suggested and help him to established low cost shednet house and help him to get registration of nursery from Dept. of Agriculture Govt. of Maharashtra(Keshar Falropwatika). During Kharif-2008-09 he supplies 5500 grafts of Mango to the farmers of the District on permits and 3200 in cash worth Rs. 261,000. from small units of Nursery besides fruits, he get additional net income of Rs. 1,14,600.00 and also supplies quality planting grafts of Mango variety Keshar to farmers of not only Hingoli District but also Washim & Yawatmal District.

            Shri. Mukundrao N. Patange not only generate additional Income per himself but under the guidance of KVK he trained 10 Rural Youth of his own village for grafting and Six of them got employment in  his Nursery. Thus efforts of Shri. Mukundrao Patange, technical and Scientific guidance of the KVK putforth one of the best example of income generation enterprises to the farmer of the Distrtict.
